Tallulah Dods (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, scientist and educator based in Eora (Sydney).
Her art practice is deeply informed by a background in plant and environmental sciences and spans a range of mediums; including drawing, painting, textiles, collage, installation, writing, and performance art. Themes such as biodiversity loss, water conservation and ecological grief are central to her work.
For Tallulah, art making is a way to express reverence for nature and hold space for the emotional reality of living in the Anthropocene. Grief, hope, and awe are processed through a sensitive and intuitive practice of observation and expression. Through her work, she aims to bring attention to the intricate beauty of nature, challenge anthropocentric norms, and foster a meditative practice of gratitude for the natural world.
Tallulah holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, where she majored in Plant Science and Environmental Studies and completed an Honours in Biology, which studied the flammability of Australian rainforests. Her educational background also includes studies in natural history illustration, theatre, and printmaking, which further enrich her creative approach to science and art.
Tallulah also co-directs Greenhouse Studios Sydney a community arts space, where she facilitates workshops and events aimed at promoting environmental stewardship including Plant Life Drawing and slow fashion events.
